Electrical Resident Engineer

Type of Position: Full-time

General Description

The resident design release engineer is a system engineer who understand hardware, software and system mechanism as well. Release drawing and software data to customer system using customer’ tool in a timely manner. This includes the writing, processing, and implementation of engineering work orders (EWOs) Documentation/coordination of design changes. This requires working with breakpoint coordinators and/or engineers from various departments

Key Roles and Responsibilities

II-2-1. Develop Plans and Schedules
• Initiate, develop and direct the design of new products
• Follow-Up timing, changes cost information, interface and part availability

II-2-2. Develop Criteria and Requirements
• Coordinate / Develop the requirements (CTS – component technical specification)
• Develop and apply Lessons Learned

II-2-3. Develop Engineering Solution
• Develop Engineering Solutions and Release final design to production
– Release parts into customer’s system
– Math/Drawing review, sign off, and submission
– Ordering and tracking of part deliveries
• Develop and design package concept
• Provide technical information and direction to designer/ designing engineer
• Prepare and track Engineering Change Work Order (E²) for release documentation and changes
• Manage Change Requests (CR/DN) and Problem Resolution Tracking System (PRTS+)
• Coordinate design of component with vehicle changes

II-2-4. Conduct Validation
• Initiate, analyze and revise design if test/ manufacturing/ field problem is show in test reports or PRTS+ system and implement problem resolution
• Develop Requirements Compliance Summary
• Vehicle and bench testing and updates when hardware, software, and/or calibrations are made

II-2-5. Miscellaneous
• Support Manufacturing and Service Engineering
• Support Product Engineering at distant locations
• Support Product Launch
• Support internal and external product investigations
• Support and maintain DFMEA
• Be able to re-flash whenever required
• Support calibration, Troubleshooting using diagnosis tool and report to supplier and customer

Job Requirements

Work Experience:

0 – 5 years of experience in Systems Engineering (Complex Systems)

Education:

• BSEE or related such as BSCE, BSCS
• Ability to understand software function in detail and apply those functions to vehicle applications
• Experience with working in the Automotive Industry is preferred
• Emphasis on team work, good communication skills, readiness to travel on test trips
• Ability to understand hardware schematic and development process

Knowledge Skills and Abilities:

• High level of oral and written communication skills
• Use of Business Software (MS Office)
• Ability to using Vector CANoe or V-Spy
