Molding Supervisor

General Description
  1. Supervise the molding department resources, schedules, & equipment
Key Roles and Responsibilities
  1. Supervise employees
  2. Participate in the analysis of product rejections
  3. Assure completion of the production schedule
  4. Provide support and training to the employees.
  5. Participate in problem solving teams
  6. Insure the quality of the product, by monitoring the compliance of the quality requirements and criteria
  7. Supervise compliance with the area’s procedures and instructions
  8. Monitor the reliability of the processes
  9. Participate in the responses to customer complaints
  10. Supervise and provide corrective actions for the production performance indicators using fast response
  11. Implement continuous improvement programs in the production area
  12. Utilize business systems for decision making and ensure accuracy.
  13. Implement inventory and scrap reduction projects. Participate in TFT activities and report out.
  14. Comply with the quality and environment standards procedures and instructions (those applicable)
  15. All those activity’s generated as a result of changes, requirements and/or improvement in the process of the applicable area
  16. Identify safety risks and concerns
  17. Act on any safety risks and concerns that could cause harm to employees
  18. Verify all paperwork and MES data are correct
  19. Follow escalation policy
  20. Verify employees payroll
  21. Provide Employee evaluation/reviews
  22. Perform any disciplinary corrective actions to employees or incident reports as required.
  23. Report out daily production requirements to production team and follow up all priorities
  24. Verify inventory cycle counts.
  25. Verify sorts are completed and all documentation is properly filled out.
  26. Verify Non-Conforming is disposition
  27. Ability to identify process improvements for daily KPI
  28. Follow up on all employees abilities
  29. Verify all SPC, purge, dip Test and secondary requirements are completed and within spec.
  30. Work with other departments as needed to ensure customer requirements are met
  31. Verify all check sheets are completed within all areas of the department
  32. Ensure operator compliance with 6S, standard work, safety and quality standards and procedures
  33. Treat employees with respect to increase productivity
Job Requirements

Work Experience

  1. 2-3 year supervisory experience in automotive environment.


  1. Prefer College Degree advanced degree desirable
  2. Prefer 6 sigma green belt minimum

Knowledge Skills and Abilities

  1. The ability to work with minimal supervision
  2. Ability to interact with hourly employees and management
  3. Basic understanding of sound inventory practices
  4. Ability to complete assigned projects on time in a changing environment
  5. Demonstrate good ethical characteristics and behaviors
  6. Ability to perform tasks using Microsoft software; Word, Excel etc.
  7. Basic Applied statistics
