General Description
  • The Corporate Accountant is responsible for managing general ledger activities, preparing
    financial reports, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and corporate policies. This
    role plays a key part in the monthly and annual financial closing processes, supports audits, and
    provides financial insights to support business decision-making.
Responsibilities
  • Receives and verifies expense reports; reconciles expense and other financial reports with account balances and other office records.
  • Facilitates payment of venders, which may include verification of federal ID numbers, reviewing purchase orders, and resolving discrepancies.
  • Maintains the general ledger
  • Assists with accounting records and ledgers by reconciling monthly statements and transactions
  • Calculates and reports sales tax based on paid invoices
  • Reconciles bank accounts at least monthly, verifies deposits, and address inquiries from banks.
  • Reconciles customer accounts and manages accounts receivable collection.
  • Verifies payment of invoices associated with accounts payable and ensures payments are charged to the appropriate accounts.
  • Provides outside auditors with assistance; gathers necessary account information and documents to perform annual audit
  • Performs other related duties as assigned
Job Requirements

Work Experience

  •  2+ years of experience in corporate or public accounting
  • Experience in the lighting industry or a related field is preferred.

Education

  •  Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • CPA or equivalent certification is a plus.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  •  Strong knowledge of accounting standards (e.g., GAAP, IFRS) and financial reporting.
  • Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) is a plus.
  • Excellent attention to detail, analytical thinking, and organizational skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
