Supplier Quality Engineer Assistant Manager

General Description
  • Lead a team and manage supplier quality by auditing, developing, and managing supplier performance, focusing on compliance, corrective actions, and continuous improvement, acting as a liaison between suppliers and internal teams (materials / launch / production / engineering) to ensure incoming parts meet design requirement standards, handling quality metrics, problem-solving for non-conformities, and supporting new product introduction quality. 
Responsibilities
  • Lead / train / support a team of Supplier Quality Engineers and manage current supply chain pool.
  • Perform supplier audit activities including but not limited to design, reliability and functions of related manufactured parts and components.
  • Supplier development activities.
  • Participate in supplier evaluation meeting.
  • Reduce / improvement of supplier PPM.
  • Organize activities related to new part introduction.
  • Work with Production / Quality / Launch team to determine Root Cause Analysis of quality issues.
  • Maintain 100% on time PPAP submissions between SL TN and supply base.
  • Planning & executing routine supplier’s process audits & systematic.
  • Drive operational excellence activities in Supply chain and supplier relationships
  • Detailed Root cause analysis and effective containment & Permanent corrective action for incoming part Quality issues.
  • Perform any other tasks assigned by the Materials Manager
Job Requirements

Work Experience

  • Minimum 5 Year of Quality experience in an Automotive Manufacturing Experience, Automotive lighting Preferred
  • Strong understanding of quality systems (ISO 9001, IATF 16949, etc.) and tools (APQP, PPAP, SPC, FMEA).
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Experience in manufacturing and supplier quality management.

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree (Industrial or Mechanical Engineering, Supply Chain, or similar) required

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • SAP MM Module Knowledge
  • Advanced communication skills, both oral and written
  • Advanced organizational skills
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Advanced Microsoft PowerPoint skills
  • Experience in managing or leading a group of people
  • Frequent Travel & Supplier visit.
  • Good analytical ability, six sigma Green /Yellow belt are preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and lead a team / project.
  • Knowledge of measurement techniques
  • Metrology, Inspection Methods and Equipment
  • Understanding and interpretation of engineering drawings
  • Understanding manufacturing processes
  • Ability to work in a diverse and dynamic environment
  • Secondary Language Fluent Preferred (Korean or Spanish)
