Supplier Quality Engineer Assistant Manager
General Description
- Lead a team and manage supplier quality by auditing, developing, and managing supplier performance, focusing on compliance, corrective actions, and continuous improvement, acting as a liaison between suppliers and internal teams (materials / launch / production / engineering) to ensure incoming parts meet design requirement standards, handling quality metrics, problem-solving for non-conformities, and supporting new product introduction quality.
Responsibilities
- Lead / train / support a team of Supplier Quality Engineers and manage current supply chain pool.
- Perform supplier audit activities including but not limited to design, reliability and functions of related manufactured parts and components.
- Supplier development activities.
- Participate in supplier evaluation meeting.
- Reduce / improvement of supplier PPM.
- Organize activities related to new part introduction.
- Work with Production / Quality / Launch team to determine Root Cause Analysis of quality issues.
- Maintain 100% on time PPAP submissions between SL TN and supply base.
- Planning & executing routine supplier’s process audits & systematic.
- Drive operational excellence activities in Supply chain and supplier relationships
- Detailed Root cause analysis and effective containment & Permanent corrective action for incoming part Quality issues.
- Perform any other tasks assigned by the Materials Manager
Job Requirements
Work Experience
- Minimum 5 Year of Quality experience in an Automotive Manufacturing Experience, Automotive lighting Preferred
- Strong understanding of quality systems (ISO 9001, IATF 16949, etc.) and tools (APQP, PPAP, SPC, FMEA).
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Experience in manufacturing and supplier quality management.
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree (Industrial or Mechanical Engineering, Supply Chain, or similar) required
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- SAP MM Module Knowledge
- Advanced communication skills, both oral and written
- Advanced organizational skills
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Advanced Microsoft PowerPoint skills
- Experience in managing or leading a group of people
- Frequent Travel & Supplier visit.
- Good analytical ability, six sigma Green /Yellow belt are preferred.
- Ability to work independently and lead a team / project.
- Knowledge of measurement techniques
- Metrology, Inspection Methods and Equipment
- Understanding and interpretation of engineering drawings
- Understanding manufacturing processes
- Ability to work in a diverse and dynamic environment
- Secondary Language Fluent Preferred (Korean or Spanish)
