Supplier Quality Assistant Manager
General Description
- SL Tennessee is seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer Assistant Manager to develop and maintain quality methodologies and systems to meet customer needs. The role involves supporting quality engineering tasks throughout the program lifecycle, leading root cause analysis, and driving continuous improvement activities.

Responsibilities
- Develops and maintains quality methodologies, systems, and practices to meet the Customer’s needs
- Support quality engineering tasks throughout the life cycle of programs, including; product design reviews, develop inspection and test plans, determine customer approval needs, support scrap and rework reduction efforts, and customer corrective action requests
- Analyze failures and initiate corrective actions
- Act as Liaison with Customers
- Lead root cause analysis activities for production and warranty failures
- Participate in risk reduction activities including warranty related issues
- Lead continuous improvement activities
- Develop / Support APQP activities (Line Readiness, Poke-Yoke Development, Rabbit development, Document development / Validation preparation)
- Develop and implement quality control methodologies to ensure compliance with quality assurance standards and guidelines
- Lead defect reduction activities
- Compile and submit PPAP / ISIR packages as required by Customer
- Participate in the review of Standard Work and all affiliated document (Including component related documents)
- 6S Initiatives
- Production Floor Support
- Break Point and ECO Coordination / Support (ECR submission, PPAP, PTR, 4M Change, BOM to drawing verification)
- Manage RMA Process
- PFMEA and Control Plan development and upkeep
- Mentors and help in development of Quality Engineers
- Other duties as directed by Quality Manager
Job Requirements
Work Experience
- 5+ years’ experience in an automotive manufacturing environment
- 2+ year experience in a quality related background
Education
- Bachelors degree in a technical field related to Quality / Engineering
- Or equivalent combination of education and experience
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbally
- Thorough knowledge of Quality systems and procedures
- Must work well in a team environment and/or independently
- Thorough knowledge of APQP and Customer PPAP requirements
- Ability to lead and direct Quality initiatives
- Extensive knowledge of electro-mechanical assemblies
- Strong problem-solving abilities, and attention to detail to identify and address quality issues effectively
