System Engineer – Chassis

General Description
  • Work with Customer, Sales and Engineering teams to develop new automotive electronic systems based on OEM customer requirements, including ISO26262 Functional Safety ASIL-B,  AUTOSAR, CAN-FD, CyberSecurity
  • Requires proficiency in automotive electrical hardware and software architectural models, schematic design and good working knowledge of electromechanical product design and development cycles
  • Requires a solid understanding of automotive electronics development process (CMMI, A-Spice, IATF 16949)
  • Good English proficiency is required to directly negotiate with OEM customers regarding requirements (features, performance, testing, timing) and to translate into internal specifications and workflows
  • Evaluate systems and make recommendations for improvements and solutions   
  • Work within cross-functional and cross-regional teams to ensure projects are completed effectively and efficiently
  • Establish and foster strong two-way communications with global development teams to ensure that product developments and architectures conform to company strategy and best practice

Key Roles and Responsibilities

  1. Support Sales at quoting new businesses through evaluation, proposal and presentation of of technical electrical hardware/software solutions and effort estimations
  2. Analyze customer requirements and translate them into internal specifications and workflows
  3. Support Program Management in technical discussions and negotiations with OEM customers regarding the feasibility, cost and timing of new development items
  4. Support the advance exploration of new product solution concepts, platforms and architectures
  5. Guide the development, maintenance and communication of hardware and software development content, validation and timing within the Electrical Design Engineering Team
  6. Support the creation and communication of hardware/software design guidelines
  7. Perform the duty of Functional Safety Manager to ensure compliance with ISO 26262
  8. Support the definition and evaluation of hardware/software validation testing plans and results
  9. Support technical design reviews (hardware, software) to ensure conformance to customer requirements
  10. Provide support to application teams for identification of root cause for issues and corrective action plans
  11. Provide general support as assigned to achieve company objectives
Job Requirements

Work Experience:
1. 5 – 8 years experience with electrical hardware/software product design and development

Education:
Minimum Bachelors of Science (Electrical Engineering)
Masters of Science Electrical Engineering preferred
