Production Supervisor

General Description

Supervise the production department resources, schedules and equipment.

Roles and Responsibilities

– Supervise employees
– Participate in the analysis of product rejections
– Assure completion of the production schedule
– Provide support and training to the employees.
– Participate in problem solving teams
– Insure the quality of the product, by monitoring the compliance of the quality requirements and criteria
– Supervise compliance with the area’s procedures and instructions
– Monitor the reliability of the processes
– Participate in the responses to customer complaints
– Verify employee’s payroll
– Provide employee evaluation/review
– Perform any disciplinary corrective actions to employees or incident reports as required
– Supervise and provide corrective actions for the production performance indicators using fast response
– Implement continuous improvement programs in the production area
– Utilize business systems for decision making and ensure accuracy.
– Implement inventory and scrap reduction projects
– Comply with the quality and environment standards procedures and instructions (those applicable)
– Common knowledge of basic ergonomics
– Identify safety risks and concerns
– Act on any safety risks and concerns that could cause harm to employees
– All those activities generated as a result of changes, requirements and/or improvement in the process of the applicable area
– Treat employees with respect to increase productivity

Job Requirements

Work Experience
2-3 years’ supervisory experience in automotive environment.

Education
– Prefer College Degree advanced degree desirable
– Prefer 6 sigma green belt minimum
– Lean Manufacturing Principles experience

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
– The ability to work with minimal supervision
– Ability to interact with hourly employees and management
– Basic understanding of sound inventory practices
– Ability to complete assigned projects on time in a changing environment
– Demonstrate good ethical characteristics and behaviors
– Ability to perform tasks using Microsoft software; Word, Excel etc.
– Basic applied statistics
– Quality and environmental systems
– Handling of chemical substances and hazardous residues
– Control of spilled substances
– Handling of equipment against fire
– Emergency programs
– Basic knowledge about Lean Manufacturing and its tools
