Production Supervisor

General Description

Supervise the production department resources, schedules, & equipment.


Key Roles and Responsibilities

  1. Supervise employees
  2. Participate in the analysis of product rejections
  3. Assure completion of the production schedule
  4. Provide support and training to the employees.
  5. Participate in problem solving teams
  6. Insure the quality of the product, by monitoring the compliance of the quality requirements and criteria
  7. Supervise compliance with the area’s procedures and instructions
  8. Monitor the reliability of the processes
  9. Participate in the responses to customer complaints
  10. Verify employees payroll
  11. Provide employee evaluation/review
  12. Perform any disciplinary corrective actions to employees or incident reports as required
  13. Supervise and provide corrective actions for the production performance indicators using fast response
  14. Implement continuous improvement programs in the production area
  15. Utilize business systems for decision making and ensure accuracy.
  16. Implement inventory and scrap reduction projects
  17. Comply with the quality and environment standards procedures and instructions (those applicable)
  18. Common knowledge of basic ergonomics
  19. Identify safety risks and concerns
  20. Act on any safety risks and concerns that could cause harm to employees
  21. All those activities generated as a result of changes, requirements and/or improvement in the process of the applicable area
  22. Treat employees with respect to increase productivity
Job Requirements

Work Experience:

  1. 2-3 year supervisory experience in automotive environment.


  1. Prefer College Degree advanced degree desirable
  2. Prefer 6 sigma green belt minimum

Knowledge Skills and Abilities:

  1. The ability to work with minimal supervision
  2. Ability to interact with hourly employees and management
  3. Basic understanding of sound inventory practices
  4. Ability to complete assigned projects on time in a changing environment
  5. Demonstrate good ethical characteristics and behaviors
  6. Ability to perform tasks using Microsoft software; Word, Excel etc.
  7. Basic Applied statistics
  8. Quality and environmental systems
  9. Handling of chemical substances and hazardous residues
  10. Control of spilled substances
  11. Handling of equipment against fire
  12. Emergency programs
  13. Basic knowledge about Lean Manufacturing and its tools
