General Description

• Direct purchasing planning activities related to new development programs and local key partner suppliers.

Responsibilities

• Direct strategy for new program component and raw materials purchases to ensure commercial and quality requirements are met in coordination with Launch, Quality, and Materials teams.

    a. Issue RFQ’s based on Sales and Program team requirements for local suppliers.

    b. Review and recommend sourcing plans for new programs and potential re-sourcing of current programs with SL         management team

• Manage local (Group C) supplier commercial contracts on an ongoing basis and liaise with Global and Regional Purchasing groups to maximize supplied material value.
• Determine Make v Buy for local strategic suppliers in coordination with Launch, Regional Purchasing, and Costing groups.
• Manage cost model for local strategic suppliers and liaise with costing team to establish quotes to meet customer RFQs.
• New plant supplier and part number, (SAP), setup in coordination with Regional Purchasing, Materials, Warehouse, and Costing teams.
• Maintenance of all commodity part number cost changes in SAP.

Job Requirements

Work Experience

• 2 years of experience in Materials or Purchasing preferred
• Purchasing experience in automotive strongly preferred

Education

• 4 year college degree required

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Ability to use various Microsoft based programs and or ERP programs (including SAP)
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Ability to analyze complex data.
• Ability to work with various disciplines
• Strong communication skills.
• Travel-Required as need for supplier sourcing activities
• Knowledge of AIAG standards
• Knowledge of injection molding, tooling, stamping, PCB manufacture, LED manufacture, wire harness, and plastic decorating.
