Warranty Engineer
General Description
- The Warranty Engineer is responsible to effectively investigate, perform troubleshooting, plan, organize, coordinate, schedule, direct, execute and manage the cost of warranty claims.
Roles and Responsibilities
1) Analyze warranty claim data and costs for trends, special cause, and cost discrepancies.
2) Organize warranty and other statistical data for efficient written and verbal communication.
3) Participate in Warranty Reviews and coordinate appropriate customer response with responsible parties/functions.
4) Coordinate and facilitate QRD (Quality, Reliability, and Durability) Reviews.
- Access / Analyze GART data for current GM Programs.
- Support Quality, Manufacturing, and Design Engineering with continuous improvement ideas based on warranty trends and production issues.
5) Provide concise Warranty analysis and reports
6) Provide “local” support for SL Quality Group and current production issues.
Job Requirements
Work Experience
1) Qualified applicants are required to have 3years minimum experience in Automotive Engineering or Quality.
Education
1) Associates degree with professional field related certification.
2) Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field preferred.
3) Equivalent formal past work experience considered.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
1) Excellent communication skills both written and verbally.
2) Full understanding of automotive chassis products.
3) Ability to work independently or in team environment.
4) Proficient in MS Office applications.
5) Highly proficient in use of Excel to analyze and communicate data analysis.
6) Competent interpretation of customer requirements, technical specifications, and drawings.
